YAB Dato' Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri bin Mokhtar

YAB Dato' Seri Dr. Ahmad Samsuri bin Mokhtar began his career in the public sector as an academic in 2001, as a Lecturer followed by Head of Department of Aerospace Engineering in Universiti Putra Malaysia. 

YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Samsuri bin Mokhtar is the Menteri Besar of Terengganu and the State Assemblyman for Ru Rendang State Constituency in Terengganu.

He began his career in the public sector as an academic in 2001, as a Lecturer followed by Head of Department of Aerospace Engineering in Universiti Putra Malaysia. He was involved in teaching and research at the Engineering Faculty and was also active in the development of the national aerospace industry.

He Drawing on his knowledge and expertise in Aerospace Engineering, YAB. Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Samsuri bin Mokhtar was regularly consulted by the government of Malaysia on aviation matters. 

He represented Malaysia at the National Aeronautics and Astronautics International Conference in Washington, USA in 2006. From 2007 to 2009, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Samsuri bin Mokhtar was an advisor to the Minister and Director General of the Higher Education Ministry focusing in the field of Aerospace followed by other prominent positions. 

Besides, he was the recipient of a special achievement award from The Federal Agency for Industry (ROSPROM), subordinate of the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Russian Federation and a gold medallist at the 54th World Exhibition of Innovation, Research & New Technologies (2005) in Brussels, Belgium.

Qualification

PhD in Aeroengine Ignition and Combustion (High Altitude Engine Failure) from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom.

Master of Science in Combustion and Energy, Centre for Combustion Studies, University of Leeds, UK

Degree in Mechanical and Materials Engineering, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia
