YB. Dato’ Haji Satiful Bahari is the Chairman of the Implementation of Sharia, Education and Higher Education Committee of the State and the State Assemblyman for Paka in the district of Dungun, Terengganu.

He began his career in education upon completing his studies with a Degree in Dirasat Islamiyah Wal Arabiah from Al-Azhar University in 1990. His teaching profession started at Sekolah Menengah Chukai, after which, he continued as a lecturer with Institut Latihan Perindustrian Petroleum (now known as Institut Teknologi Petronas (“INSTEP”) where he taught at the Islamic Education and Civilisation Department. While pursuing his interest in teaching, YB. Dato’ Haji Satiful Bahari founded the Markaz Tarbiyah Islamiyyah Darul Bayan in Pinang Merak, Paka, Terengganu and is an Advisor to the institution.

He was first elected to represent the people of Paka in 1999 and remained their State Assemblyman ever since. In 2000, he was appointed as the Deputy Chairman for Youth, Sports, Culture and Tourism, a position he held until 2004. As the founder of Pertubuhan Kebajikan Remaja Terengganu (“PEKERTI”), a non-governmental organisation, YB. Dato’ Haji Satiful Bahari has the experience of promoting and developing youth into productive, self-confident and responsible members of the community.

His passion for education compliments his concern for the well-being of the community, particularly in enhancing Islamic education teachings and inculcating its values in life.
